Representatives of the United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) arrived Nigeria early January, 2020 to commence security Assessment of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
The 3-man team comprising Transportation Security specialists were received by Capt. Abdullahi Sidi, the Acting Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) at the Aviation House. The 10 days Assessment covered critical areas of the airport.
According to the NCAA, the Audit of the security system was a routine exercise hinged on safety requirements guiding flight operations in and out of the country, a practice which has remained consistent between the two countries over the years.

Capt. Sidi expresses appreciation to the TSA for the visit, emphasizing on the Authority’s commitment to ensure the success of the Assessment. He says NCAA would collaborate more closely with TSA to promote security in and around Nigerian airports.
