Kenya Airways Plans To Collaborate With Nigerian Airlines – Hafeez Balogun

Kenya Airways says it is considering a partnership agreement with two major Nigerian airlines on feeder and marketing cooperation. The partnership which may come into effect in the first quarter of 2020 will give the airline access to remote regions.

 

The Country Manager for Kenya Airways in Nigeria, Mr. Hafeez Balogun, remarks that there is a visa- on-arrival agreement between both countries which will help in enhancing tourism development, and also an aviation school in Kenya where Nigeria airlines do their simulation and crew training.

“Kenya Airways is already in discussion with two major Nigerian airlines on feeder and marketing cooperation. This may come to reality by first quarter of 2020,” Mr. Balogun states.

While speaking on the challenges facing aviation in Nigeria and Africa in general, Mr. Balogun comments that a lot needs to be done in order to achieve the objectives of the single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), while Nigeria needs to fix the challenge of infrastructure and operational costs to enable more Nigerians to travel by air, which will improve the country’s economy.
